Porranot Purahong (born November 25, 1995 ) is a Thai pole vaulter .

Athletic career

Porranot Purahong gained his first international experience in 2013 when he started in the decathlon at the Southeast Asian Games in Naypyidaw , but could not finish his competition. Two years later he won the Southeast Asian Games in Singapore , where he set a new player record with 5.30 m. In 2017 he improved this record to 5.35 m at the Southeast Asian Games in Kuala Lumpur and thus secured his second gold medal. Shortly afterwards he started at the Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games in Ashgabat and had to admit defeat to Kazakh Sergei Grigoryev with a jump of 5.20 m . In 2018 he took part in the Asian Games in Jakarta for the first time and finished tenth with 5.20 m. In 2019 he won the silver medal behind the Philippine Ernest Obiena at the Southeast Asian Games in Capas with 5.20 m .
