Portal Tomb by Killiney

The Portal Tomb of Killiney (also Brehon's Chair or The Druids Judgment Seat ( German  "the judgment seat of the Druids" called)) is located west of Killiney Hill Road, in the Town Country Killiney, south of Dun Laoghaire , north of Bray in County Dublin in Ireland . As portal Tombs be megalithic on the British Isles referred to in which two equally high upright stones therebetween with a door stone which form the front of a chamber which is covered with a massive part endstone.

The monument is likely the remnant of a portal tomb that was surrounded by a stone circle. Some vertical panels have been preserved, one of which looks like a chair. Unfortunately, Killiney's “chair” was exposed to destructive forces. In 1972 the ICA's Ballybrack Guild tried to have the monument officially recognized. Interestingly, it has been discussed whether the Killiney memorial is real. Historian William F. Wakeman (1822–1900) declared it to be a forgery, but antiquarian Charles Vallencey Pratt (1831–1907) believes it is real.

There are two Druid or Judge Chairs in County Dublin, the other is Brehon's Chair or Taylor's Grange in Rathfarnham near Tallaght . Nearby are the Brennanstown Dolmen and the Ballybrack Tomb Portal .
