Wahn Infantry Division

The Wahn Infantry Division was a German infantry division during World War II .

The Wahn infantry division was set up in January 1944 as a so-called shadow division as part of the 24th wave of deployment in military district VI . It was set up on the Wahn military training area near Cologne from parts of the 182nd Reserve Division .

She was subordinated to Army Group North at the end of February . On March 16, 1944, the Wahn Infantry Division was used to refresh the previously heavily decimated 331st Infantry Division .

The division's commanding officer was Lieutenant General Heinz Furbach , later commander of the 331st Infantry Division.
