Wildflecken Infantry Division

The Wildflecken Infantry Division was a German infantry division during World War II .

The division was set up on April 17, 1944 as a so-called shadow division in the course of the 26th wave of deployment in military district IX . It was set up at the Wildflecken military training area .

In mid-June 1944, the division was transferred to Army Group C in Italy . On July 3, 1944, the regiments of the Wildflecken Infantry Division were used there to refresh the previously heavily decimated 715th Infantry Division . The staff formed the 232nd Infantry Division , which was set up with the 27th wave of formation.
