Niedergörsdorf Infantry Division

The Niedergörsdorf Infantry Division was a German infantry division during World War II .

The division was set up on September 28, 1944 as a so-called shadow division for military district XVII on the Döllersheim military training area. The division name refers to the place Niedergörsdorf , which was related to the battle of Dennewitz . Division name refers, as the Infantry Division wholesale Görschen , Infantry Division Dennewitz , Infantry Division Katzbach and the Infantry Division Moeckern on places of liberation wars .

At the beginning of October the 585th Volksgrenadier Division was refreshed with the division .
