Carol Hemming

Carol Hemming (born before 1980) is a makeup artist .

Life

Hemming began her career on the film staff in 1980 in Matthew Chapman's drama Hussy with Helen Mirren in the lead role. In 1983 she worked for the first time under director James Ivory , followed by a total of ten joint films by 2009, including Room with a View , Reunion in Howards End and What Was Left of Days . Another long-term collaboration connects her with Kenneth Branagh , under whose direction she worked five times between 1994 and 2017. Other renowned directors Hemming has worked with include Oliver Parker , Nicolas Roeg , Tim Burton and Gore Verbinski . In 1995 , Hemming was nominated for an Oscar for Best Make-up and Best Hairstyles for Kenneth Branagh's literary adaptation Mary Shelley's Frankenstein along with Daniel Parker and Paul Engelen, but Ed Wood won it that year .

In addition to her film engagements, Hemming also worked occasionally for television, including the television film The Wannsee Conference and the miniseries The Fog of Avalon , for which she was nominated for a Primetime Emmy in 2002.
