The Portas GmbH (proper spelling: PORTAS ), headquartered in Dietzenbach , Hesse , the claims to be Europe 's leading supplier of renovation solutions . The company employs 130 people in the GmbH (as of 2009); according to Portas, a total of around 5000 people work in the franchisee companies with 500 operations across Europe in 13 countries.
history
Portas was founded in Dietzenbach in 1974, and in the following year other specialist companies were opened in Germany. In 1976 expansion to Austria followed. Further European countries were added in the following years, most recently in 1996 the Czech Republic and Slovakia . In the 1980s, the company began advertising on television with the football coach Otto Rehhagel .
The company's managing director is Horst Jung, who, as a supporter of the Kickers Offenbach football club, was the former chairman of the board of directors and for decades he was Porta's sponsor , and at times also the main and jersey sponsor of the OFC.
The PORTAS brand is protected.

Products
Portas manufactures around 7500 different items for renovation needs. These include radiator cladding, stretch ceilings, sliding doors, wood replacement windows with aluminum profiles and renovation systems for kitchens, doors, house doors, windows and stairs.
