Porte de Bourgogne (Moret-sur-Loing)
The Porte de Bourgogne in Moret-Loing-et-Orvanne , a town in the Seine-et-Marne department of the Île-de-France region , is a city gate that was probably built in the 13th century. The building is protected as a monument historique .
The Porte de Bourgogne, part of the city fortifications , is located at the eastern end of the Grande-Rue and right by the bridge over the Loing River .
The rectangular gate tower with two ogival openings as a passage, between which the portcullis originally was, has small round towers on the outside. In one there is a staircase that leads to the upper floors. There are remains of a machicule above the passage .
