Porte de Paris (Moret-sur-Loing)
The Porte de Paris (also known as Porte de Samois ) in Moret-Loing-et-Orvanne , a town in the Seine-et-Marne department of the Île-de-France region , is a city gate that was built in the 15th century. The building is protected as a monument historique .
The Porte de Paris, part of the city fortifications at the end of Grande-Rue, is to the west of the old town. The rectangular tower is flanked on the field side by two porches with round towers. Between its two arches as a passage formerly was portcullis . The side passage for pedestrians was only created in 1840. Access to the city gate is only possible via the battlements , there is an entrance on the northern side.
