Portela is a place and a former municipality ( Freguesia ) in the northern Portuguese district of Arcos de Valdevez . 260 inhabitants lived in the community (as of June 30, 2011).
On September 29, 2013, the municipalities of Portela and Extremo were merged to form the new municipality of União das Freguesias de Portela e Extremo . Portela is the seat of this newly formed community.
