Porto Corallo

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Porto Corallo (in German coral port ) is a stretch of coast on the east coast of Sardinia . It is located 35 km north of the Costa Rei , 80 km south of Arbatax . It is not a separate village, but a district of Villaputzu 6 km away . The name comes from the historically significant port, which was secured by a watchtower from the Spanish occupation that is still preserved today. Today it is still the only port between Arbatax and Villasimius . The port is sparsely populated and has been expanded to accommodate around 200 yachts . The adjoining beach is approx. 500 m long and slopes gently. Around 250 holiday homes were built on the mountain near the beach.
