Porto Montenegro is a luxury yacht marina with adjoining waterfront development in Tivat , Montenegro .

The area, which is partly still under construction, was formerly a shipyard in the former possession of the Navy of the SFR Yugoslavia, which lost its importance after the civil war . The attractive property on which the shipyard is located was put up for public sale in 2006 and acquired by Canadian businessman Peter Munk. In 2008 it was confirmed that he is not the sole owner - Munk owns 54% of the ownership interests of the Porto Montenegro company - the rest is owned by Oleg Deripaska , Nathaniel Rothschild , Jacob Rothschild , Bernard Arnault , Sandor Demijan and Anthony Munk .

Munk has announced that he will build a luxury yacht marina and boardwalk that would meet the needs of the growing community of super yacht owners. The favorable location of Tivat in the remote area of the Bay of Kotor and the simultaneous proximity to Tivat Airport favor the location of the marina.

Porto Montenegro is the first comprehensive, state-of-the-art deep-water marina in the Adriatic. Upon completion, it will offer 600 to 650 berths for all sizes - with at least 130 spaces reserved for superyachts from 30 to 150 m in length. The offer is supplemented by luxury apartments, shops, restaurants and other sports and entertainment options.

Porto Montenegro's development is happening in stages, there are currently around 185 marina berths, five buildings with mixed use and 130 luxury residences, over 20 retail stores, a complete sports complex, a yacht club, a 64 m long “infinity pool” and one Lounge bar called "Lido Mar", a marine and local museum and a waterfront five-star boutique hotel that is still planned. The following phases are to be developed in accordance with the demand. In connection with Porto Montenegro there are projects such as an 18-hole golf course near Tivat Airport and a possible takeover of the Bijela shipyard, which is to be converted into a yacht shipyard.
