The Possartstraße is a city road in the suburb Bogenhausen of Munich .

The street is one of the main axes of the "elegant" part of Munich-Bogenhausen, built around 1900 with tenement houses in the southern part and with sophisticated villas in the northern part, east of the village center of Altbogenhausen , which today forms the eponymous part of the 13th district. It leads diagonally across from the Prinzregententheater from Prinzregentenplatz to the north, crosses u. a. the Holbeinstraße runs west on Shakespeare place over and goes on Galileo place in the Scheiner road over which continues until Herkomerplatz runs. Bus line 54 (formerly O 22 from Schwabing through Englischer Garten and via Herkomerplatz to Ostbahnhof ) operated by Münchner Verkehrsgesellschaft mbH (MVG) runs through the street . A private clinic (No. 31) and the Chabad Synagogue (No. 15) are located on Possartstrasse .

designation

The street is named after the actor and artistic director of the Bavarian State Opera Ernst von Possart (1841–1921). The name of the street goes back to 1902.
