poster.tv was a German media service that could only be received via the reception units of poster.tv GmbH. The station went into operation on October 1, 2005 and broadcast a program loop that was repeated every hour around the clock. The content was broadcast digitally via TCP / IP . Operations were discontinued in 2008 and poster.tv GmbH has been insolvent since mid-2009.
Program concept
The station was not aimed at private households , but rather at customers of service companies such as restaurants , fitness studios and retailers . All content was broadcast completely without sound, as many restaurants and leisure facilities have their own music concept. The program loop of poster.tv contained not only some picture galleries but also news from the fields of politics , culture and sport . The length of the programs was designed for a maximum of one minute, as the maximum number of viewers was to be achieved in the shortest possible time . In addition to the actual program content, the operators of the reception systems were able to personalize the program with their own content in the form of text and image presentations .

reception
The program was broadcast over the Internet and could not be received on standard televisions. The broadcast to the system took place entirely via GPRS / UMTS . Due to the way it was broadcast, the broadcaster was technically assigned to the digital signage category .
insolvency
On July 30th, 2009, poster.tv went bankrupt after it had been shut down in 2008.
