Post office building Chur
The post office building in the Grisons canton capital Chur is located on Postplatz next to the city garden and opposite the Fontanapark . It is a listed building and document of the Federal Renaissance at the beginning of the 20th century before the First World War , when representative buildings in a uniform style were promoted throughout the Confederation .
The building was constructed between 1902 and 1904 by the architects Jean Béguin and Theodor Gohl . James Vibert from Geneva was responsible for the facade, which is rich in ornaments and decorative elements, and the figures on the gables .
The Chur post office, in which the Swiss Post is still headquartered today, is included in the list of cultural assets of national importance in the canton of Graubünden .
