Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan ( PotashCorp ) was a Canadian company headquartered in Saskatoon . The company was listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange on the S & P / TSX 60 stock index .

The company had the world's largest fertilizer manufacturing capabilities.

Potash Corp was founded in 1975 by the Saskatchewan provincial government . In 1989 the company went public and was privatized. In the 1990s, the company acquired several US potassium chloride producers such as the Potash Company of America , Florida Favorite Fertilizer , Texasgulf, and Arcadian Corporation . Potash Corp, together with The Mosaic Company and Agrium, owned the joint marketing and sales company Canpotex . This advertises and sells potash from the three manufacturers outside of America. In January 2018, Potash Corp merged with Agrium to form Nutrien .
