Powder Island (from English powder 'powder, powder, flour' , Spanish Islote Pólvora ) is an island 3 km off the Rymill coast of the Palmerland on the Antarctic Peninsula . In George VI Sound it is 13 km south-southeast of Cape Jeremy .

The Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey mapped it in 1948 and named it after the friable rock that was found here.
