Mario Cavigelli

Mario Cavigelli (born November 18, 1965 ; legal resident in Ilanz / Glion and Domat / Ems ) is a Swiss politician ( CVP ).

Life

Mario Cavigelli attended primary school in Domat / Ems from 1972 to 1978 and then the Bündner Kantonsschule . Afterwards he completed the recruits , non-commissioned officers and officers school of the Swiss Army until 1986 . During his school and army years he was co-founder and president (1984–1986) of the Junge CVP Graubünden. From 1986 to 1993 he studied law at the University of St. Gallen and at the University of Freiburg i. Üe. where he was named Dr. iur. PhD .

From 1993 to 1994 Cavigelli worked as an intern at the Cantonal Court of Graubünden and from 1994 to 1995 in the “Vincenz & Partner” law firm in Chur. He then worked as a lawyer and partner at "Vincenz & Partner" until 2007 and at "Bänziger Mengiardi Toller & Partner" from 2007 to 2010. In 1997 he was elected to the local council of Domat / Ems, of which he was a member until 2007. For the district of Rhäzüns he was elected to the Grand Council of the Canton of Graubünden in 2000, where he chaired the CVP parliamentary group from 2002 to 2010.

On June 13, 2010, he was elected to the government council of the canton of Graubünden, where he heads the building, transport and forestry department (BVFD). He was re-elected in 2014 and 2018. As head of the BVFD, he presided over various offices, including the conference of cantonal energy directors (since April 2016) and the intergovernmental conference of the mountain cantons (from November 2012 to March 2016)

Cavigelli is widowed and has a son and a daughter.
