Powiat Morąski

The powiat Morąski (meaning "Landkreis Mohrungen" ) was a powiat in northeastern Poland from 1945 to 1975 . He belonged to the Olsztyn Voivodeship .

When it was founded in 1945, the powiat Morąski took over the borders and the district seat of the previous district of Mohrungen , but was not subject to the same identity.

In June 1945, taught Starost of Morąg seven gminas one: Morąg ( Morag ) Słonecznik ( Sonneborn ) Zalewo ( Saalfeld ), Stary Dzierzgoń ( Old Christburg ) Zajezierzyce (Borzestowo, Seegertswalde ) Myślice ( Miswalde ) and Miłakowo ( Liebstadt ) . In 1946 new Gminas were added: Boreczno ( Schnellwalde ), Boguchwały ( Reichau ), Bramka ( Himmelforth ), and Gmina Morąg was converted into Gmina Królewo ( Königsdorf ).

In the course of an administrative reform (replacement of the Gmina by the Gromada ), the People's Council of the Olsztyn Voivodeship divided the powiat Morąski into 30 gromadas in 1954: Bogaczewo ( Güldenboden ), Boguchwały ( Reichau ), Barty ( Barten ), Boreczno ( Schnellwalde ), Bramka ( Himmelforth ) , Brzydowo ( Seubersdorf ), Dobrocin ( Alt Bestendorf ), Dobrzyki ( Weinsdorf ), Janiki Wielkie ( Groß Hanswalde ), Jerzwałd ( Gerswalde ), Jurki ( Georgenthal ), Królewo ( Königsdorf ), Książnik ( Herzogswalde ), Liksajny ( Nickelshagen ). , Lubsajny ( Nickelshagen ) ( Liebwalde ), Małdyty ( Maldeuten ), Miłakowo ( Liebstadt ), Morąg ( Mohrungen ), Myślice ( Miswalde ), Przezmark ( Prussian Mark ), Słonecznik ( Sonnenborn ), Stary Dzierzgoń ( Old Christburg ), Stare Miasto ( old town ), Strużyna ( Silberbach ), Szymonowo ( Simnau ), Warkałki ( Workallen ), Włodowo ( Waltersdorf ), Wielki Dwór ( anchor ), Zalewo ( Saalfeld ) and Żabi Róg ( horn ).

In 1957 the following gromadas were disbanded because they had proven to be too small: Barty, Brzydowo, Książnik, Bogaczewo, Bramka, Dobrzyki, Dobrocin and Warkałki. In the years that followed, there were even more comparable corrections that ultimately changed the boundaries of the powiat Morąski.

During the administrative reform of 1975, the Powiat area was divided into the newly formed Olsztyn and Elbląg Voivodeships .
