Pozo Izquierdo is a place and a section of the southeast coast of the island of Gran Canaria ( Spain ), which is within the municipality of Santa Lucía de Tirajana .
Beach
The beach of Pozo Izquierdo (El Arenal) is known worldwide for its ideal conditions for windsurfing and is one of the main stages of the PWA windsurfing world championship , especially in the "Wave" category. Some athletes such as record world champion Björn Dunkerbeck or the twin sisters Iballa and Daida Ruano Moreno used the beach to train.
In Pozo Izquierdo you surf in summer with a very strong cross-onshore wind from the left with sails around 4 m². In winter the wind is less reliable, but the waves are usually higher.
