Presiding Bishopric

The Presiding Bishopric is a governing body for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints . Instructions from the Church state:

“The presiding bishopric is the presidency of the Aaronic Priesthood of the Church (see Doctrine and Covenants 107: 15). Under the direction of the First Presidency , the Presiding Bishopric also administers the temporal affairs of the Church (see Doctrine and Covenants 107: 68). "

Time issues are understood to mean the financial and material basis. The Presiding Bishopric is responsible for the administration of donations, especially tithing , buildings, charities, and businesses of the Church. In this sense, she also gives the local church leaders (bishops) instructions on bookkeeping and the use of financial resources, as well as on the care and maintenance of the buildings. In her role as Aaronic Priesthood Presidency, she is assisted by the leadership of young men.

Together with the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles , they form the Committee for the Use of Tithing Funds.

Currently (2017) Gérald Caussé serves as Presiding Bishop.
