Beat attack in the Munich subway in 2007

On the evening of December 20, 2007, there was an incident in Munich - Bogenhausen that was discussed in the media as a beating attack in the Munich subway . The later victim, the retired director of the Hermann-Frieb-Realschule in Schwabing , Hubert N., (in some sources also called Bruno N.) pointed the then 20-year-old Serkan A. and the 17-year-old Spyridon L. to the smoking ban in the subway. N. was then insulted with "German asshole, German pig, you fucking German"; Spyridon L. spat in the direction of the later victim. Hubert N. got off at the final stop Arabellapark to go home. Spyridon L. and Serkan A. ambushed him and attacked him. One of the two perpetrators kicked Hubert N. in the head with a running run. The perpetrators fled with the victim's backpack. N. suffered several skull fractures with hemorrhages in the brain and since then has suffered from concentration disorders.

On May 7, 2009 the perpetrators were finally convicted by the Federal Court of Justice after an appeal had been rejected ; Serkan A. under adult criminal law to twelve years imprisonment and Spyridon L. to eight and a half years.

In 2011, Serkan A. led a lawsuit against the immigration authorities against the threat of deportation after serving his sentence , which he lost before the administrative court . He should be released from custody at the end of 2015 at the earliest and then deported to Turkey. In February 2014, it became known that Spyridon L., who was involved in the crime, was deported to Greece immediately after serving half of his prison sentence . The remainder of his imprisonment was released on the condition not to return to Germany.

The incident gained nationwide attention and triggered a debate on juvenile criminal law on the occasion of the Hessian state elections in 2008 .
