Prühmühle

The Prühmühle is a monument in Eggenfelden in Lower Bavaria and is located in the east of the city on the Rott . The property itself dates from the 19th century and was built as a four-sided courtyard , which is typical of the Rottal . In addition to the agricultural use, there was a mill , a sawmill , a forge and a bakery in the yard. The mill and the sawmill can still be visited today.

Mill

The dominant mill building with its technology was built around 1870. The building and the mill technology have remained almost unchanged to this day and can be visited on special occasions. In 2015 the mill was awarded the honorary prize by the Bavarian State Association for Milling Knowledge and Mill Conservation.

Sawmill

The sawmill is right next to the mill building. This is equipped with a single-leaf gate from the 2nd half of the 19th century and a full gate from the 1950s. Both gate systems are fully functional to this day and are still in motion for regular demonstrations.

Hydroelectric power plant

The old water wheels of the mill and the sawmill were removed in the 1980s. It was replaced by two modern water turbines.

Mill day

In Germany, takes place annually on Whit Monday the mill day instead, opens its doors to the Prühmühle to the public.
