Pranciškus Stanislavas Vitkevičius

Pranciškus Stanislavas Vitkevičius (born November 27, 1926 in Daubariai , Mažeikiai district ; † June 16, 2013 in Vilnius ) was a Lithuanian civil lawyer, professor of Roman law , judge and politician , member of Seimas .

Life

In 1941 Pranciškus Stanislavas Vitkevičius joined the Mažeikiai grammar school and studied (until March 1, 1945) when he was recruited by the Soviet army. In 1950 he studied at the two-year Vilnius Law School and worked as a judge in the Utena District Court from 1952 . He also studied at the Distance Learning Department of the Vilnius University Law Faculty (until 1958). In 1968 he graduated from the remote - postgraduate and in 1969 obtained a doctorate. In 1981 he completed his habilitation at the Lomonossow University in Moscow .

From 1984 he was professor at Vilnius University . From 1956 to 1970 Pranciškus Stanislavas Vitkevičius was a judge in the Supreme Court of Lithuania , later as a lecturer and professor of civil law and in particular Roman private law at the University of Vilnius. From 1992 to 1996 he was a member of the Seimas parliament .

Pranciškus Stanislavas Vitkevičius was married. With his wife Vlada he had the son Valdas.
