Prime Tower (former name Maag Tower ) is a high-rise in Zurich . It belongs to the real estate investment company Swiss Prime Site and was the tallest skyscraper in Switzerland from 2011 to 2015 .

The 126 meter high building with 36 floors in Zurich West next to the Hardbrücke train station was built on the site of the former Maag-Zahnräder AG . On the top two floors there is a restaurant and a bar with lounge .

The choice from designs by architects from Barcelona, Basel, Berlin, Kuala Lumpur, London and Zurich fell on the suggestion of Gigon / Guyer from Zurich. The Prime Tower is one of many projects in the Zurich West district .

At the beginning of July 2006, the construction team was unplugged to a height of 126 meters with the help of a pneumatic crane and a helicopter. The scaffolding then remained in place for three months.

The Cubus and Platform buildings with seven floors are also part of the Prime Tower project . In addition, the Diagonal industrial building is being renovated and integrated into the project.

The demolition of the industrial buildings on the site began on February 18, 2008. The foundation stone was laid on November 19, 2008. On April 6, 2010, the Prime Tower, with a height of 105.5 meters, overtook the hitherto highest habitable building in Switzerland, the Messeturm Basel . On May 21, 2010, the top floor of the core was concreted, whereby the tower reached the final height of 126 meters.

The skyscraper was officially opened on December 6, 2011.

The now largest commercial law firm in Switzerland, Homburger AG, is located in the Prime Tower. The number of lawyers when they moved in was 120 to 140.

In September 2015, the Roche Tower opened in Basel , which has since been the tallest skyscraper in Switzerland with a height of 178 meters.

At the beginning of 2016 it became known that the web application for the administration of the parking deck was accessible via the internet and had security gaps.
