List of train stations in Switzerland |
The station Zurich Hardbrücke (405/407 meters above sea level. M.) is one of 13 SBB stations in the area of the city Zurich . It is located in the apron of Zurich main station , less than two kilometers away from it.
investment
It is a train station with four tracks for public traffic, as well as two through tracks . Its name is derived from the Hard Bridge above , which gives the building a certain resemblance to a pedestrian underpass. There is no proper station building. There is only one hall with a kiosk under the tracks, from which the various platforms are accessible. Long stairs and lifts also connect the platforms with the Hardbrücke bridge above and the trolleybus and tram stops of the VBZ .
The station in the industrial quarter and very close to the Hard quarter opens up large parts of Zurich West . Although only S-Bahn trains stop at the Hardbrücke stop, with 44,000 people per day (2013) it is one of the 15 most frequented train stations in Switzerland . It serves as a transfer station for commuters between individual S-Bahn lines and the local public transport network. Since developments in the surrounding quarters are expected to result in a further increase in passengers, SBB and the City of Zurich are planning to expand the infrastructure of the station, such as entrances and shopping opportunities, from 2017.
The stop was set up in 1982 on the existing Käferberg line to Oerlikon , when the SBB completed this branch of the Hardturm Viaduct in view of the regular timetable . The construction costs of the first stop amounted to CHF 6.85 million. Two thirds of them were taken over by the City of Zurich and one third by the Canton of Zurich. Initially, the hourly regional trains to Bülach and via Kloten stopped at the station, with the two lines running between Oerlikon and the main train station every half hour. When the S-Bahn opened in 1990, the two newly built tracks in the direction of Altstetten were also included in the stop.
