The deciduous primrose ( Primula frondosa ) is a species of the primrose genus ( Primula ).
features
The deciduous primrose is a perennial, herbaceous rhizome that reaches heights of 4 to 12 centimeters. The leaves measure 3 to 9 × 1 to 2 centimeters. They are spatulate and oblong to ovate. The bracts are not sagging at the base. The calyx is bell-shaped and 4 to 6 millimeters long. The sepals are pinkish-purple or reddish purple in color.
The flowering time is in May.
The number of chromosomes is 2n = 16.
Occurrence
The deciduous primrose occurs in north-east Bulgaria in Stara Planina on steep rock faces, in crevices and in light forests at altitudes of 900 to 2000 meters.

The deciduous primrose is rarely used as an ornamental plant for rock gardens.
