Princeton Readings in Religions

Princeton Readings in Religions is a series of scholarly books of source texts from various religions around the world translated into English. The series has been published by Princeton University Press in Princeton , New Jersey , since 1995 . The editor of the entire series ("Series Editor") is Donald S. Lopez Jr. , who is also the editor of many individual volumes. Numerous well-known specialists have contributed to it.

Many of the source texts are being presented translated into a Western language for the first time. Asia is particularly well represented. Further literature is given for the translated texts with short introductions; the individual volumes are provided with a glossary and index.

The volumes published so far are on India , Buddhism , China , Tibet , Japan , Asia , Late Antiquity , Tantra , Judaism , United States , Korea , the historical Jesus , Christianity in the Middle Ages , Islam in South Asia and yoga .
