The Prinoth AG is an Italian manufacturer of snow groomers and tracked utility vehicles. The company's headquarters are in Sterzing , South Tyrol . With its fleet of vehicles, Prinoth is active both in slope preparation and with commercial vehicles for vegetation and biomass management.

history

The company, which belongs to the Leitner Group , was founded in 1951 when the racing driver and designer Ernst Prinoth opened the parent company of today's company, a car repair shop.

Prinoth started experiments for snow groomers in 1960. In 1964, the "P15" piste grooming machine was the first snowmobile to be built. In 1970, the slopes of the Ski World Championships in Val Gardena were prepared with Prinoth vehicles. In 2000, the respective snow groomer areas of Leitner AG and Prinoth were merged.

In 2005 the takeover of the snow groomer division from Camoplast (formerly Bombardier ) was completed. In 2009, the Bombardier tracked commercial vehicles division was taken over and the Prinoth LLC Canada headquarters was founded. In the same year Prinoth GmbH opened in Telfs , Austria. In 2011 the majority of AHWI Maschinenbau was taken over. The Swedish company Släpliftprodukter AB, which manufactures caterpillar chains for snow groomers , has also been part of Prinoth AG since November 2014 .
