Ernst Prinoth

Ernst Prinoth , also Ernesto Prinoth , (born April 15, 1923 in Ortisei in Val Gardena ; † November 26, 1981 in Innsbruck ) was a South Tyrolean industrialist and racing driver .

Career

In 1961, the auto mechanic took part in five Formula 1 races that were not valid for the world championships, with a Lotus 18 racing car. He managed to take the podium twice in these races. The following year he wanted to take part in the Gran Premio d'Italia , but could not qualify. In 1963 he took part in the Gran Premio di Imola and the Austrian Grand Prix .

Since 1960 he has been a pioneer in the construction of snow groomers , which he had developed for series production in 1964. Further inventions followed. Since 1973 he has built snow blowers as additional snow vehicles . Prinoth AG , which he founded , was taken over by Leitner AG in 2000 .
