The Prinzhorn Group is an Austrian group of companies in the field of paper and packaging production . The Prinzhorn Holding GmbH group is formed by the sub-companies Hamburger Recycling, Hamburger Containerboard and Dunapack Packaging. The group of companies is owned by the Thomas Prinzhorn Private Foundation.
history
The group has its roots in the W. Hamburger paper mill from Pitten , which was founded in 1853 by Wilhelm Hamburger . In 1866 Anton Mosburger founded a packaging plant in Vienna. This was taken over in 1959 by W. Hamburger. In 1972 Thomas Prinzhorn took over management of the company from W. Hamburger. Under his leadership, the Rieger family's paper company in Trostberg , Germany, which dates back to 1912, was taken over in 1989 . Since 1990 W. Hamburger has had a stake in the Hungarian packaging manufacturer Dunapack, which was fully integrated into the group in 1995. In 2007 the company Hamburger Recycling was founded to supply the Group's paper mills with waste paper . The group has been led by Cord Prinzhorn since 2013.
Hamburg recycling
Hamburger Recycling is a recycling company that specializes in the collection, sorting and processing of waste paper. Both our own paper mills and external customers are supplied with the recycled waste paper.
Hamburger container board
The Hamburger Containerboard division is responsible for the production of corrugated base paper, corrugated cardboard , cardboard and plasterboard . Hamburger Rieger is part of the Hamburger Containerboard division . Hamburger Rieger unites the German plants of Hamburger Containerboard, which are located in Trostberg, Spremberg and Gelsenkirchen .
Dunapack Packaging
The raw products from Hamburger Containerboard are processed into packaging under the name Dunapack Packaging. This is done in 20 own companies in 10 different countries.
