Priscilla Gneto (born August 3, 1991 in Yopougon , Ivory Coast ) is a French judoka . She won an Olympic bronze medal in 2012 and was European champion in 2017.

Athletic career

The 1.64 m tall judoka started in the half-light weight category until 2016, the weight class up to 52 kilograms. In 2010 she won a bronze medal at the U20 World Championships. In the same year she was French champion. In 2011 she finished fifth at the World Championships in Paris . At the 2012 Olympic Games in London, she lost to North Korean An Kum-ae in the quarter-finals , while Gneto defeated Belgian Ilse Heylen in the battle for bronze .

At the 2014 World Championships, Gneto lost to the Japanese Yuki Hashimoto in the round of 16 and was eliminated, and in the team competition the French won the title against the Mongolian women's team. It was not until the European Championships in 2016 that Gneto won an international medal in the individual ranking again when she was only defeated in the final by Kosovar Majlinda Kelmendi . Three and a half months later, she lost her opening match against Swiss Evelyne Tschopp at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro .

After the Olympic Games, Gneto switched to lightweight, the weight class up to 57 kilograms. In 2017 Gneto defeated the German Theresa Stoll in the final at the European Championships in Warsaw and won her most important title to date. In 2018 she won a bronze medal at the Mediterranean Games .
