Pritzelwitz
Pritzelwitz is the name of an ancient noble family from Bohemia . It is headquartered in Habichenstein ( Habstein ) near Böhmisch-Leipa .
history
The family line begins with Peter Habichenstein , who is mentioned in a document from 1309 to 1322. He was a ducal councilor and lord of the Bruges in Patendorf ( Wohlau district ) and founded the place Pristelwitz ( Trebnitz district ). His son took the name of the place as a family name. Later the name changed to Pritzelwitz.
Another family of Pritzelwitz goes back to two natural sons of Johann Heinrich von Pritzelwitz and carries the same coat of arms. The sons received the Prussian nobility legitimation on May 21, 1790.
coat of arms
The coat of arms of both families shows a natural donkey's head in red. On the helmet with red and silver blankets, a growing silver pelican biting its chest. In older depictions it is a swan (see Gotha A * 1906).
