The G. Schneider & Sohn GmbH is a Bavarian brewer and distributor based in Munich and brewery in Kelheim , focusing on the production of wheat beer , which branded Weisse Schneider has specialized marketed. From its history, the company is also known regionally as the Weisses Bräuhaus .

She is a founding member of the initiative Die Freie Brauer , an association of more than 30 medium-sized private breweries from Germany and Austria.

history

The founder, Georg Schneider I, was the first bourgeois to be granted the privilege of brewing wheat beer from King Ludwig II of Bavaria . The original brewery was located in Munich's old town at Tal 7. The company has been run by a male descendant of the Schneider family with the first name Georg since it was founded in 1872. In the meantime - since 2000 - Georg Schneider VI. the brewery. In 1946 production was relocated from Munich to Kelheim in Lower Bavaria after the production facilities were destroyed by Allied bombing raids in 1944 . The company headquarters are still in Munich.

The Weisse Brauhaus zu Kelheim , today's production facility, is the oldest wheat beer brewery in Bavaria. It was founded in 1607 by Duke Maximilian I as the Electoral Weisses Hofbräuhaus and has been part of the company since 1928.

The service and logistics center is located in Saal an der Donau .

Today the brewery employs around 100 people and sells its products in Germany and 27 other countries. The annual output is around 250,000 hectoliters and around 25% goes abroad.

Schneider Weisse Tap 7 My original.

The core product is TAP 7 Mein Original , formerly Schneider Weisse Original, which is brewed according to the original recipe from 1872 . With the renaming of the range in 2009, other products should come to the fore, which is why the best-selling product is now preceded by TAP 7 . This is to draw attention to the fact that the brewery also produces TAP 1 to TAP 6 products.

In addition, is from the Aventinus Eisbock the Aventinus brandy , produced a wheat beer fire with 42% alcohol.

The company has three inns. They are located in the former headquarters in Munich ( Tal ), in the Munich district of Berg am Laim and on the brewery premises in Kelheim. At the beginning of 2016 they were renamed from Weisses Bräuhaus to Schneider Bräuhaus .
