The professional license is the slang term for the permission granted by an association to practice a sport professionally. The following description refers to the licenses valid in German professional football .

For gamers - definition

According to Section 8 (3) of the game rules of the German Football Association (DFB), a contract player becomes a licensed player if he plays the football game on the basis of a written contract concluded with a licensing association or a corporation and by concluding a written license contract with the league association is allowed.
