Profirma was a magazine for entrepreneurs that appeared from 1997 to 2012. The widespread circulation was mostly more than 80,000 copies.

Profirma offered owners and managing directors of medium-sized companies information on strategic corporate management, finance, law, taxes and marketing as well as information technology . With the articles, the utility was emphasized. Professional company was in direct competition with Impulse and Markt and Mittelstand .

history

ProFirma was founded in 1997 by Max-Schimmel-Verlag in Würzburg . In September 2000, the publisher reduced the number of issues from ten to six per year and temporarily increased the print run to more than 100,000 copies. At that time the BfKD Office for Communication & Design produced the magazine for a few issues before it was produced again in July 2001 by Max-Schimmel-Verlag itself. In November of the same year, the publisher integrated the IT magazine BusinessUser into professional company. From 2002 the magazine appeared ten to twelve times a year. In 2004, the Haufe Group took over the Schimmel Verlag completely and relocated the editorial team to Freiburg im Breisgau . The magazine and online presence were supplemented by the internet portal profirma-premium.de with fee-based work aids such as checklists, forms and specialist articles on corporate management. For the state association of Baden-Württemberg of the Confederation of Self-Employed People , several member pages were created in every issue from 2006 onwards, as it received almost 20,000 copies as member items. In October 2012 the Haufe Group announced the hiring of a professional company. The publisher named the lower advertising revenues as the reason.
