The Proschhübel was originally completely forested. In the course of expanding the barracks in Albertstadt, most of it was cut down. Later it was partly used as a sand pit and as a garbage dump. The landfills have now been renatured and have been connected to the park in the eastern part of the site.
After the end of the Second World War , the Albertstadt rubble hill was raised at the western end .
The Dresden branch of the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health and the Dresden correctional facility are located on Proschhübel .
From 1946 to 2011 Fabricestrasse was now called Proschhübelstrasse. In April 2016, to the south of the Proschhübels at Fabricestrasse and Magazinstrasse, fire station 1 of the Dresden fire brigade went into operation as a replacement for the Dresden-Neustadt fire station that had become too small.
