Prosper Bonaventure Ky
Prosper Bonaventure Ky (born January 10, 1965 in Toma , Nayala , Upper Volta ) is a Burkinabe clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Dédougou .
Life
Prosper Bonaventure Ky studied at the seminaries of Saint Jean-Baptiste in Ouagadougou and Saint Pierre Claver in Bobo-Dioulasso . On July 23, 1994 he received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Dédougou .
From 1994 to 1998 he taught at the minor seminary of Nasso in Bobo-Dioulasso. In the following two years he was chaplain at the Cathedral of Dédougou and from 2000 to 2003 he headed the boys' seminary of the diocese in Tionkuy. From 2003 to 2010 he studied in Rome at the Pontifical University of the Salesians , where he received his doctorate in psychology . After two years in pastoral care in his native town, he became permanent secretary of the African clergy in Burkina Faso and responsible for the study house for priests in Ouagadougou in 2012.
Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Dédougou on April 24, 2018. He received his episcopal ordination on July 21 of the same year.
