The Pru District is a district in Ghana . It is located in the center of Ghana in the Bono East region and borders the districts of Kintampo North , Kintampo South , Atebubu-Amantin , Sene and Nkoranza in the Bono East region and the East Gonja district in the Savannah region .

The Pru District was only founded by presidential decree of November 12, 2003 in 2004 by splitting up the former Atebubu district . In addition to Pru, the Atebubu-Amantin district was also newly established.

Constituencies

A constituency of the same name has been set up in the Pru district. Here Masoud Baba Abdul-Rahman won the seat in the Ghanaian parliament for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) party in the 2004 general elections.
