The Prufu Bolong ( French spelling Prufu Bôlon , sometimes just called Prufu ) is a left tributary of the West African Gambia River .
geography
The Prufu Bolong rises about 15 kilometers northeast of the place Vélingara in the Senegalese region of Kolda . The river, with a total length of about 25 kilometers, flows in a north-westerly direction until it crosses the border with Gambia about twelve kilometers from its mouth and, almost thirty meters wide, flows into the Gambia about one kilometer east of Basse Santa Su .
The addition Bolong , which has many tributaries of the Gambia, means "moving water" or "tributary" in the Mandinka language .
