Przemysław Saleta (born March 7, 1968 in Wroclaw ) is a Polish boxer .

career

The former kickboxer Saleta became a professional cruiserweight in the USA in 1991 , but lost for the first time in his fifth fight - prematurely, as well as in his remaining defeats. After winning points over an old Dennis Andries , he was briefly listed by Ring Magazine in the top 10, but shortly afterwards he went KO in the first round and focused on the heavyweight division.

On December 9, 1995 he boxed in the heavyweight division against the Croatian Željko Mavrović for the first time for the European Championship, but lost by knockout in the first round.

He then remained inactive for 1.5 years. In 2001 he won the Polish championship title and then got another chance at the European Championship on July 20, 2002. His opponent and defending champion was the previously undefeated Luan Krasniqi . Krasniqi initially dominated the fight and was clearly ahead on points. In the second half of the fight, however, he got stamina problems that finally caused him to give up after the eighth round.

In the first defense of his European Championship title he met Sinan Şamil Sam on October 12, 2002 and had to give up the belt after a TKO defeat after less than three months. He also lost prematurely in the subsequent rematch against Krasniqi. After another two-year hiatus, he returned to the ring in 2005 to lose to Oliver McCall .

On February 23, 2013, he beat Andrzej Gołota , who had returned to the ring after three years, in the sixth round by knockout.
