Ptahmosis (stone cutter)

Ptahmose , also Ptehmes , was an ancient Egyptian stone cutter .

Ptahmosis probably lived in Thebes in the 19th dynasty (1282 - 1186/85 BC) . He is known for his Book of the Dead , which is now kept in the Archaeological Museum in Krakow (MNK IX-752 / 1-4) and in the Louvre (Paris SN 2). Only on the basis of the Book of the Dead, in which he is named as the chief of the lapis lazuli producers of the Lord of the Two Countries , can one guess when and where ptahmosis lived.
