Ptiliolum caledonicum , Syn. P. croaticum is a beetle from the family of dwarf beetles (Ptiliidae).

features

The beetles reach a body length of 0.75 to 0.8 millimeters. The slightly arched body is slightly shiny brown-yellow in color. The deck wings have completely rounded shoulder angles and are not flared in front of them. The pronotum is not rounded at the rear angles, its sides are flared or constricted in front of it. The rear pair of wings can be seen as a translucent black spot on the upper wings. The antennae and legs are colored pale yellow.

Occurrence and way of life

The species is distributed across large parts of Europe, but is absent east of Germany, Slovakia and Hungary.
