The beetles differ from those of the genus Ptilium in the lack of a longitudinal furrow on the pronotum , from Micridium in the different shape and the weakly pronounced luster of the upper side of the body, and from Actidium in the pronotum which is not beveled at the back and which is not narrower at the base than at the front edge. The tip of the Telsons is drawn out into a fine, sharp tooth. The genus also differs from Ptilium in that the episterns on the metathorax are not exposed .
