Life
Publius Manlius Vulso administered 210 BC. The island of Sardinia as praetor . His term of office fell roughly in the middle of the Second Punic War , which the Romans waged against Hannibal . For the defense of Sardinia, Manlius could rely on two legions . As a Carthaginian fleet commanded by Hamilcar at the end of the summer of 210 BC. BC appeared in front of the city of Olbia on the northeast coast of Sardinia and devastated it, Manlius appeared there with his army. The Carthaginians then sailed on and devastated the area around Carales (today's Cagliari ). Otherwise nothing is known about Manlius' life.
