Pugh Shoal is a shallow area in the archipelago of South Georgia . It is located 2.5 km south of Main Island in the Willis Islands group .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named the area in 1964 after Able Seaman Peter John Pugh (* 1940) from the research vessel HMS Owen , with which it was surveyed in 1961.
