Punk from Rohrbach

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Punker [ ˈpʊŋkɐ ] is a legendary figure of the 15th century from Rohrbach (now part of Heidelberg ).

According to the Hexenhammer (II, 16), around 1430 there was an extraordinarily accurate marksman named Punker who was said to have had supernatural powers. He is said to have made the conquest of a castle ( castrum Lendenbrunnen , presumably Lindelbrunn near Vorderweidenthal ) possible almost solely by fatal arrow shots. A legend similar to the Swiss Tell saga is told in the Hexenhammer, according to which he shoots a coin from the head of his little son at the command of a prince. Alexander Schöppner took this legend as Der bayerische Tell in his collection Sagenbuch der Bayerischen Lande (1852).

The Punkerstraße in Rohrbach and the district magazine der punker are named after Punker .
