The Punta Álvarez is a cape on the west coast of the Antarctic Peninsula . The cape forms the northwestern tip of the Magnier Peninsula and the southwestern boundary of Leroux Bay on the Graham Coast .
The Cape was named in 1978 by the Argentine CCG after the Peruvian native Argentine independence fighter Ignacio Álvarez Thomas (1787-1857).
