Punta Óscar is a headland in the north of Livingston Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . On the west side of Cape Shirreff , the northern branch of the John Paul II Peninsula , it is north of Playa Del Canal and around 350 m north-northwest of Punta Antonio .
Chilean scientists named it after Óscar Pinochet de la Barra (1920–2014), director of the Instituto Antártico Chileno .
