Punta Aguayo ( Spanish ) is a headland in the north of Livingston Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is located south-southeast of Punta La Caverna on the east side of Cape Shirreff .
Chilean scientists named it after the Chilean veterinarian and marine biologist Anelio Aguayo Lobo (* 1933) from the Universidad de Chile , who explored this area by helicopter on the 20th Chilean Antarctic Expedition (1965–1966) .
